View Full Version : Lesson learned today

Haydn fell asleep in the car today and I mistakenly decided that I would get him out and put him in a front carry in a MT and try to keep him sleeping. He did stay asleep, for another 30min, but being 4.5mos pregnant and carrying a sleeping 30lb toddler on that very pregnant belly was not the best idea. Oh my Lord, it was so uncomfortable. When he woke I tried putting him on my back, but that was even more uncomfortable because it felt like all his weight was hanging from my shoulders (as opposed to my SSC where it seems more on my hips). Lesson learned: it's time to put up the MTs until the new baby is here. :(

Thanks. I'm so sad to not be able to wear Haydn anymore. It's all happening so fast now. He stopped nursing 2.5mos ago, he's too big to wear now, and he's getting so independent anyway. I just hate that my baby is growing up.

I know. I can't wait.
I don't like this part of motherhood, that heartbreaking bittersweet thing of them growing up and not needing you quite as much. As much as I rejoice in all the new stuff he's doing, I miss him being my little snuggly baby. It's gone by so fast. I always tell new moms to just allow themselves the time to really enjoy their babies cause they don't stay that way long enough. I didn't take my own advice with this one. I hope I can with number 2, cause he'll probably be the last.

Hey mama if your little one wants to be worn you could try the hip carry most mei tais can be used in a hip carry as well as long as it wont hurt you. I didnt learn about babywearing until my last one. I wish I had another lo one to wear. My dd is 2 1/2 and I wear her when she lets me!
