ok....i'll add my reviews.

-the chicken pot-pies are huge and delicious
-the chicken strips are really good and last awhile
-the mini deep dish pizzas are yummy and a good size imo
-the corn on the cob is ok and nice & sweet but cheaper at the groc. store
-the popcorn shrimp is good and very flavorful
-the blackened chicken alfredo is good but too spicy imo
-the crunchy potato wedges are very yummy and the kids love them
-the curley fries are ok but aren't worth the extra $
-the breakfast pigs in a blanket are really delicious and made w/blueberries. mmmm
-the orange asian chicken is really delicious and the chicken is nice and moist
-the sweet n sour chicken is good but does a number on your belly :twitch:
-the cream cheese pretzels are sooo good and worth every penny
-the mashed potatoes are really good and comes in a big bag
-the garlic toast is good but not good enough to spend extra $ on

that's all I can think of atm. I've been ordering alot of foods from them since I don't have time to cook anymore.

Subbing.....I want to try the roasted chicken bites. I'd rather the kids eat roasted chicken instead of chicken nuggets, but the last time the Schwans guy came by he was out of them. Their brats are good, but honestly they're no better than Hillshire Farms. And way more expensive.

strawberry/white ice cream cake= major

I've never tried the roasted chicken bites or the strawberry/white ice cream cake but they both sound tasty! :lick: How big are the ice-cream cakes? I almost ordered one but didn't wanna order it if it was too big.

Uhh about 9-10 inches across? It has been quite a while since I got one.

The cake is nice and moist even if its barely been out of the freezer. Oh and did I mention

I tried the pot roast that a friend bought and it was really good, better than I was expecting..
The bread dough ends up good bread if you like that sort of thing. I got most of it when I was pregnant and actually cooking wasn't an option for a while.

There were a couple of the two people meals that were pretty good. A couple were supposed to be Asian of some sort but I don't remember what right now. I will try to go to the site and check, I have had quite a bit of what they sell.

Oh and their chocolate marshmallow ice cream is super yummy too!

BTW_ a LOT of their food is sold under other brands and in restaurants. I think it is Freschetta, I will check that as well..the pizza is exactly the same thing. One of the lasagna brands, a brand of pie and pot pie..stuff like that. .
If you look at the stuff from a store, quite a bit will say Schwanns on it for made by or distributed by or whatever depending on the brand.

Sounds like I'm gonna hafta try one of those cakes :newdrool: Mmmmm! I didn't know that about the brands.

Have you tried the potato soup?

Nope, I rarely eat soup.

Everything! I love their ice cream sandwhiches, dut to the fact that they aren't soggy, but the cookie part stays crunchy like a cookie. I have NO idea how they do it.
I used to order from them all the time but then I had one of the drivers start harassing me and it got a tad bit scary so I quit :(
I do miss the food.

1 delivery so far, but

I love the chicken bites, real white meat, careful though not to overcook

quick taters really do crisp nicely and are tasty

mini cheese pizzas were good, so sure if worth the extra$$ though,

totally taken on the onions, mushrooms, thought it would be good to have on hand, that bag was about 1/2 the size I thought it would be!:speechless:

blue hake was tasty

bought the marinara, but haven't tried it yet, or the lime chix, will et you know!

That's good that you moved.

The breakfast chicken biscuits weren't as good as I expected. the biscuit wasn't as soft and gets kinda soggy.

Turkey medley dinner [turkey/gravy with california mixed veg] was good but isn't good for your tummy afterward if ykwim. :err:

Cheesy quick taters are good but I expected more flavor.

Will be adding the ice cream sandwiches to my order :newdrool:

We're a family of 5 [but baby is BF, obviously] and the bag of chicken strips last us over a week but for a fam. of 6 I'd suggest buying two bags.

Instead of the froz. mashed potatoes by Schwan, I buy Steam N' Mash from the grocery store. Cheaper & tasty too!

You just have to watch what you get price wise. I usually get some sort of popsicle and a couple frozen dinners, and some frozen veggies or fruit. The yogurt smoothie makers are ok, but I think they are cheaper in stores.

if you get a catalog [from schwans person or snail mail], it comes with coupons sometimes.

Forgot the fruit cups-they're delicious but expensive. You only get 6 in a pack.

I have had the parmesean (sp?) chicken and they are sort of small but GOOD
I got the normal size pepor pizza and it was GOOD.
I got the normal pretzels and they are awesome! came with cinn and salt.

I plan to get more when i get the extra $

I just ordered the mini pizzas. I remember getting them as a kid. I have been eating bean burritos alot lately, but Abby just had surgery and won't feel like going anywhere for a few weeks so I need food at home.

I was gonna get the roasted chicken bites, but there are lots of reviews that say they are full of fat and gristle. :puke:

The cream cheese pretzels are $9.99, so they would be free!

Gross about the roasted chicken bites! Thanks for the heads up~I almost ordered some. Yay for free pretzels! :hapdance::newdrool:

I ordered some blueberry and chocolate muffin pucks, mmmmm. I love the blueberry ones~they are SO much better than bagged/commercial muffin mixes.

I ordered some of the unbreaded chicken breast fillets to try. They had some good reviews.

And some roasted baby bakers potatoes to try. My order will be here on the 7th. Will update when we try them :)

We like:

-Roasted Chicken Bites (No fat or gristle in ours and way better than breaded nuggets)
-CeasarParmesan Shrimp (these are great over plain pasta)
-Garlic Herb Shrimp (same as above)
-Baby Bakers - yum!
-French Toast Sticks (good quick breakfast - DS likes to dip in yogurt)
-Toaster Waffles (sweet even when plain)
-Bow Tie Pasta & Veggies (Good baby finger food)
-Mediterrenean Veggie Mix (like restaurant veggies! Yum!)
- Garlic Potato & Vegetable Blend
-Stir Fry Vegetable Blend
-Fire-Roasted Vegetable Blend
-Chicken Alfredo Rigatoni Meal Kit
-Fetticuni Alfredo with Chicken & Broccoli
-Chicken Enchilada Dinner
-Crispy Cod Nuggets (mostly batter, but good quick meal for kids)
-Diced Chicken Breast Meat (great for casseroles or chicken salad)
-Popsicles & Ice Creams

We usually get a few meals to have on hand for quick dinners. We get the veggie blends during the off-season when we can't get fresh local veggies. The convenience foods are nice to have on hand too, but we try not to eat them everyday because they are pricey and full of not so good stuff. But the popsicles and ice creams are a summer must!!

I've never had canned stuff to compare it to. The diced chicken is in large 1" chunks, so I usually break it up into even smaller pieces. It does have a "consistancy" about it. I don't know how to describe it, but I think it tastes a little like the chicken you can buy with solution added. It's juicy, but almost too juicy, not like fresh chicken that is usually drier when you cook it. ANyways, it's good for adding to things, but I wouldn't eat it straight out of the bag, if that makes sense.

cross posted from the other Schwan's thread...

Well, I just spent a butt load and it would've been more but he was out of the little individual supreme pizzas. I got cheese herb biscuits, buffalo wings, roasted chicken bites, meatballs, and chicken pot pies for $48. The chicken pot pies were free.

Anyhoo, he rattled off a quick list of what foods were made by Schwans and here's what I can remember...
Sonic corn dogs
Buffalo wild wings pitas (not sure which ones)
there were some apple bites from applebees or TGIFridays? not sure
Red Lobster biscuits
Red Barron, Freschetta, and DiGiorno pizzas
BK chicken fries

I'm sure he mentioned more that I'm forgetting, but just in case you're wondering what to get, you may have already had it.

I got a call from who I assume is the manager saying HE will be out tonight and not the reg. guy because he quit. Gah!

Wow, that's some crappy customer service! My guy was really nice and showed up on time, well close enough.

So my food reviews so far.....DH said the chicken pot pies were ok. They were SMALL!!!
The buffalo wings are really good. Spicy, but good.
The cheese herb biscuits are the same ones sold at Red Lobster, so no surprise that I ate 3 of them in one sitting. *blush*

Ok so I got my order finally. Our schwans man quit so another guy from 2 counties over had to cover for him. Here's my reviews.

Corn dogs: Not very good. The store brand is much better. Schwan's corndogs are a bit bland imo.
Baby bakers: I loved these but the kids and dh, not so much. DH says they're too spicy.
Chocolate muffin pucks: Taste just like the Betty Crocker choc. muffin mix, which is cheaper. But seeing as these are already made, they're easier and delish :)

Mr. Schwan's came by again yesterday. I got 3 frozen pizzas, baby bakers, guacamole, brats (I forgot to mention earlier that these are pretty good, although I think they're overpriced. DH wanted them again), and PIGS IN A BLANKET!!!!! Those are yummaliscious!!!

more reviews!

cheese & herb biscuits: delicious in every way and fast!
marble cake with fudge ripple ice cream: (http://www.schwans.com/products/productDetail.aspx?id=51008&c1=10236&c2=10285&c3=11334)omg :newdrool: excellent choc fix! highly recommended!

california blend mixed veggies: good but i don't think i'll follow the directions on back. i'll boil them next time and add more water. would most likely just buy the $1 bags at wal-mart though, because they're cheaper and taste is about the same.
