I like to cook italian sausage (bring to a boil in a little water in a frying pan and then fry until done) and then mix slices of the sausage and broccoli into macaroni and cheese. (I use the Velveta boxed mac and cheese, but I mix 3/4 cup or so of sour cream and a handful or so of shredded mexican blend cheese in.) When everything's mixed up, put it into a 9x9 dish, pack it down tight, cover it with foil, and bake at 400* for 15 minutes. Then, uncover the dish, add a layer of shredded cheese, and then a crumb topping (I use a mixture of town house and goldfish crackers usually) and bake for 5 minutes more. This works great with chicken instead of the sausage, too!
