My cat obviously just had kittens and you know how they have like 8 nipples well she only has 4 kittens and the front 4 I don't think have been nursed on at all just the back 4 and they are hard as rocks! I tried to latch a kitten on to one of them but he wouldn't and mama got upset about it and kept rolling around the box upsetting ALL the kittens! So what should I do? Expressing her manually is not an option. Should I just let it go and hopefully they will dry up??

I think you should milk your cat. Then convince your SO that its creamer and get him to put it in his coffee.
that would be HILARIOUS.
but probably just leave her alone, those back boobies will dry up and the front will keep producing. OR find more kittens :) I have a friend who's cat was wet nursing some strays.

Let her be. The milk will balance out and all will be happy.

That's what I'm hoping for but the I googled and saw mastitis thrown around a lot so I guess ill just be on the lookout for red streaking if it doesn't go down soon!

While mastitis is possible the majority of the time it takes care of itself. Certainly watch it but chances are she'll be fine.

She will be ok! I would worry too but they will eventually use all the nipples :)

She'll be fine. I've had a momma cat with only 2 kittens and some of the nipples never got used. It was fine.

Could you put something warm on them, so the milk lets down & comes out on its own? I'm not a cat expert but that helps me :err: LOL

You could call the vet and ask to speak to the feline lactation consultant. :teehee: Sorry, I couldn't resist.
I never even thought of cat's having nursing issues. :) I hope she feels better soon.

LOL me neither! Maybe its because I haven't had kittens since I myself have had a baby so now I know all the lingo and such and I'm overly concerned! LOL oh and just to let yall know, the swelling is going down I saw one kitten nursing on the front nipple and so I think they finally nursed off of them!
