the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series

I just finished the first book. I'm not sure what to think of it.. it seemed like it starts in the middle of the story, KWIM? And there was no sex! You guys all said there was good sex in these books LOL.

anyway, are they really worth reading? I ordred t he next few on paperback swap. I want to like them. I like the Sookie Stackhouse books.

I liked them a lot. I definitely think they are worth reading. The further you get into the series, the more sex there is and then the last couple of books have less sex.

If you want something as fun as the SS series, that is more lighthearted I would suggest MaryJanice Davidson Undead and Unwed series, or Gerry Bartlett Real Vampires series. There are a lot of really awesome paranormal books out there. Also Charlaine Harris' other series are good too.

Have you heard of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books? Those are on my next 'to read' list.

OMGoodness, y'all haven't read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series?!?!?!?! Get your arses to the bookstore! :teehee: It's a fantastic series. Definitely one to read if you like Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, etc.

Get the Blackdaggar brotherhood, I mean it get it. They are awesome books.

As for the Anita Blake ones, I'm on book 3, I really didn't enjoy the first book, I thought ugh, I don't know if I want to read these, but I had book 2 still. So I read it. It was better. I read book 6 next, it's great. So now I have books 3-5. Keep going they get better.

I don't like the whole zombie story whatsoever.... like I'm raeding it and thinking "i hate this storyline". I bought about five ofthe books. I tihnk i'll just list them on paperback swap and go for the Black Dagger brotherhood.

I'm reading book 3 now, I do think that book 6 was pretty good, so I'm giving it some more time.

But I highly recommend the Blackdaggar Brotherhood. :newdrool: I could not put those down, and honestly, the first one is just ok, but the rest...

I love them... sex starts in book 6 or 7, and it never ends.. but does cut back some in the most recent ones... Also Laurell has another series, Merry Gentry, it is a faerie series, and the entire series has lots of sex. it is pretty good.
Charlaine Harris's other series are good too, I really like the Harper Connelly one.
