Well - it started out as a pink spot on his front tooth a couple months ago - my cousin the dentist says that he bruised the pulp, but that it was ok. So he's had a lovely pink tooth in all his pictures.
Then two days ago it started to turn black - and today - pain. He will barely eat anything - I've given him tylenol and put ambesol on his gums, and still he cries. I called our dentist on her cell (I felt so bad b/c she's on vacation, but what could I do?) and she called in an antibiotic (she thinks his root has died and he has an infection now) and will see him on Tuesday to figure out what to do with the tooth. My cousin thinks they might pull it. I know he'll be losing his teeth soon, but what a traumatic start to it all if it has to be pulled before it's ready!
I guess the tooth fairy will have to leave something really nice...

Awwww.... my son had a cavity at 4 years old and had to have it pulled. He'll feel a LOT better once it's pulled. :hugs:

He's six - A gappy-tooth smile will be ok because he's supposed to lose teeth soon...

aww, poor baby. :(
A had the 'soft enamel' problem and had to have crowns when she was two. It was really sad for me, but she just called them her 'gold teeth'.
It really didn't phase her.

Ohh! the pain part bothers me a LOT! 2 years ago my son whacked his head on my nightstand and he pushed back his two front teeth doing it. One has turned gray and stays that way. It doesn't cause him any pain though and the dentist says the root has died and its just gonna hang out until its ready to fall. The pain part screams "BAD!" to me so I"m so sorry for the toofer :(

My 4yr old hit his tooth. It hurt him & then his turned really discolored too. It actually went away on it's own???
