Just got back from the grocery store.... again. My 4.5 year old ended up with some mystery gum dh saw her shove under her pillow when he went in to check on her at bed time. Apparently she got some sticky fingers during grocery shopping tonight :shake: She was very reluctant to tell us the truth, but I'm glad she did. I had her put her boots on over her jammies, get her coat on and get her piggy bank. Poor thing was sooo scared, but she told the manager what happened and paid for it. The manager was really good about it. Forgiving, but stern and firm. A mom too I'm assuming. She even said "sometimes we have to call the police when people do that." Her little eyes got so big.

I'm pretty sure she won't be doing that again. She'd better not!! I know this sounds strange, but my girl was so cute during the whole thing. I almost felt bad for her.

I really admire you for making her pay for it, THEN, instead of waiting till the morning. Lessons like that usually stick well for kids. I hope she learned this time.
