PPD here as well. I've had it after 2/3 pregnancies.

I had PPD which turned into clinical depression due to my hypothyroidism. I recently weaned off of my antidepressant of 5 years since I am pregnant again.
I know you don't know me, but these are my suggestions.
Don't be ashamed in any way, shape or form. Every person is susceptible to depression. Its not just something weak people get, even the strongest person can become depressed.
See your doctor and ask around to find a good therapist if your depression is situational. Even if its not, talking to a professional therapist can be amazingly uplifting and helpful.
Cut yourself some slack and take it easy, remember you don't have to be perfect or super woman.
My PMs are always open if you are comfy talking to someone you don't know.

I have depression and anxiety - I'm borderline bi polar but currently off my meds and doing really well so far (I just had a baby 3 weeks ago). I've run the gambit of diagnoses and drugs. My PM box is always open!
I used to suffer from major depression (among other things) which is not controlled with diet, exercise and lifestyle changes. No meds for nearly 12 years now.

I experienced PPD after the birth of dd 16 mos ago. I started progesterone creme therapy when she was 2 mos old and I swear by it. It has worked better than any depression med I have taken (lexapro and prozac). I am still taking it. It helps tremendously with my mood and PMS too. It's a compounded creme made in a pharmacy. My Dr. said she treats women with it all the time and every single one of them says it works. I had never even heard of this approach before until she suggested it to me.

Would the progesterone work on NON-PPD?

I would say yea, since I don't have PPD anymore and I am still using the creme.

recently diagnosed borderline.
not something I would normally advertise, but since everyone is sharing.
I won't do meds unless it's bad, but I do weekly therapy.

I have been clinically depressed. It's been better lately but I still have a lot of bad days. I refuse to take meds while PG and BFing so it's been a few years since I've been on it. I got PPD with my first 2 but not with DD. My PM box is open :hugs:
