View Full Version : Editing posts?
Is it possible to enable post editing so we can edit posts. I always end up with typos that I need to edit :duh:

I do that too but I think they arn't going to enable them. We like to have a "own your words" kinda policy. But I am not the admin here so I would say let one of them step in and say for sure one way or the other.

Shaine knows us well. Own your words typo's and all.
There will be no editing allowed
we will have to fix it so that FSOT and ISO posts can be edited but all other posts will not be edited
we are very forgiving of spelling and grammatical errors but expect our members to own their words
if you say it be prepared to own what you have said
deleting and editing posts causes all sorts of drama and this WILL be a drama free zone
Sounds good. Though, I hope no-one pre-judges my products just because I cant type

There is a spell check available. But most of us have learned to overlook typos in the non-editing world. :flirt:

I was thinking about this last night. My only concern for no editing is that if we post some pics of our kids in fluff for others to see and don't want to leave them up forever. Maybe if we get a Photo Booth forum....can that be edited? I really want to share what my LO's look like in certain kinds of cloth to show fit, but just don't want to leave them up for very long KWIM?

Kind of like a Fluffy Photo Booth as opposed to a normal photo share section.

Danni, I think this is a fab idea. We'll get a photo section up here soon, and I'll make sure that fluffy pic's are able to be removed. I want people to feel comfortable posting pic's of their kids and I know that would be an issue for me.
Thanks.

Excellent!
And to those who are unfamiliar with not being able to edit, it will grow on you and you will adapt. I had a hard time at first, but it makes sense. You need to think a bit more about what you say as it will stay there and you can't just say something rude and come back later and delete it. Now that I have been involved in a no-edit forum for a while I prefer it. :D
if you post photos of your kids you can host them in photobucket or something similar then delete them from there when you are ready
it will remove them from the boards

:duh: I completely forgot about that option. We may just have to keep it like that, that way we don't have too many edit features.
Like you said Danni, not editing makes you think about what you're posting. Kind of like a filter for your fingers.

I was thinking that too Dana, but what if we have the same pic posted a few different boards? Then we need to go back and reload it and repost it to the other boards. KWIM?
It would just be nice to be able to edit a photo section.

I think on a board like this (meaning to buy/sell/trade/ on) that editing should be permitted. Unless you can set it up for just the FSOTs. It will just make it so much easier.

There is editing in the FSOT, to make life easier.

Sam and I are discussing it
we will get back to you
there are reasons we have for not wanting too much editing to be done
so let us see what we can figure out for this issue and we will let you know
