My sister was doing dishes and cut her hand on a broken glass. You can *kinda* see some fat, but no bone or anything. Its kinda like a diagonal cut, not straight down.

I'd honestly get it checked out. If there's nerve or vascular damage she could lose sensation/perfusion of the finger.
I DOUBT it, but I would just to be safe.

I would have it checked out just to be sure. They may just put dermabond on it.

I would have it looked at, especially if it is bleeding a lot. I cut myself while cutting tile once and didn't have it stitched (even though I should have) and now I have an awful scar on my thumb.

Stitching and all is for more than cosmetic purposes, it helps the wound heal faster, keeps nasty bacteria out and all that good stuff. I'd go in just to be sure and at the very least, they'll clean it out well and might give her good supplies to keep it clean while healing.

Those cuts hurt. I hope she's ok and is taking a pain reliever.

At this point it's probably either stitched or won't be, but if the edges are open and gaping, and it's on a body part that is very mobile (ie finger, not forearm) then it probably needs stitches. Otherwise, it will just keep opening back up. Plus, like a pp said, fingers are tricky because there are a lot of very important tendons and ligaments, and they aren't that far below the skin.

If you have the stomach to do it, you can usually close up even really bad cuts on areas that don't move much like a forearm or calf with butterfly bandages, but they tend to not stay stuck on areas like fingers.

I would have it looked at. I cut my finger on a knife once and did not get it looked at and when it healed it hurt so bad like my skin was stretching.
