If you change your needle size to keep yarn from pooling do you also have to add or subtract stitches to keep the garment size from being off?
I only have size 5 and size 7 circs and my soaker is pooling more than I like on the 7s so I'm thinking frogging to the waistband and doing the whole thing on the 5s. Will that make the sizing off?

yep, that will make the sizing off, cause you get a different # of stitches per inch with a different size needles

Ooo, I wouldn't change needle size to avoid pooling, that's asking for a huge size difference.

That's what I was afraid of. I really hate adding stitches, too. It's just a soaker so I guess I'll just go with the pooling.

You know, I've tried to fight pooling. I've knit from both ends of the skein (Waaaaay too much work for me) I've increased and decreased stitches randomly, I've cut the yarn, pulled a bunch out, and started over (just looks weird, but has helped the pooling before) It's a real bitch once something starts pooling. Just go with it :)

I usually don't mind pooling, actually prefer it a lot of times. But this is turning into almost complete verticle stripes of color. Who knows, maybe I'll love it when it's done

I can do that. I haven't gotten that far yet so you may not be able to see it yet. I just know it's there as I'm knitting it if that makes sense, lol.

Ok, so the picture sucks, sorry.
But I think you can get the general idea of how the pooling is going.

I knitted some more after taking the pictures and the colors do seem to be shifting a little more.
