Co-ops

Do you have to PM an admin to get permission to join a co-op?? I read the rules but I dont get how you actually get permission.

If you meet the requirements listed, then you can go ahead and order in the co-op you're interested in. If you don't, you need to PM Dana.

what exactly are co-ops? I mean do people just buy part of a bulk order? Sorry for the ignorance here

ok update: I kinda understand a bunch of people buy from someone like say a set number of items. So I guess my real question is do they just do these for a discount? And if so are there co-ops for all kinds of things?

Certain stores/wahms will offer a discount for buying in bulk. Not all. Many have minimum order amounts you have to meet. Some offer multiple discount levels for meeting different sales totals or some offer free shipping to the hostess (you still pay shipping to you from the hostess).

Go check out the co-ops forum to get an idea of what's been offered. You'll get a better idea of how it works.

yes and yes
people do co-ops to get wholesale discounts
there are many many companies that allow their product to be sold via co-op
