Do you handwash your KK or similiar SS bottles ..
or put them in the d/w ?? I have been putting my KK in the d/w .. but i just got 2 SS bottles similar to KK from Target and it says handwash only just wondering what others do ? Is their a reason to not wash them in the d/w ... TIA

I have a pink and a SS KK- I washed both by hand with a bottle brush for about a year and then just started throwing them in the dishwasher a few months ago- no problems yet!

The only reason I don't put them in the d.w. is because mine have printing on the outside that I don't want to wear off in there.

I put them in the dishwasher. They say handwash only but I'm too freaking lazy.

Dishwasher only here--for a couple of years. I think if they have the painted finish, it might come off more easily in the dishwasher. But if they're just plain SS, I can't see why you would have to handwash them.

The deal with handwashing from my understanding is mainly for the lids. Water can be forced into spaces in them. I don't exactly understand why that's bad for them, but that is the story I got.

I hand washed my Sigg bottles because the lining made me too nervous to put them in the dishwasher. Must have been intuition, because they're out of commission entirely now since the big news broke. I'll probably put my new KK bottles, when they arrive, right in the dishwasher.

I put my KKs in the dishwasher, unless I need one washed right away, then I just do it by hand. I wash out the sippy lid for Jacob's KK by hand because the dishwasher doesn't get in all the cracks.

I handwashed our Siggs too due to the liner. Plus we only use our bottles for water, so I just usually give them a quick hot water rinse and only use soap on the caps.

I was my KK by hand. I have a dishwasher but I'm too nervous that I'm gonna screw it up. Plus mine is a pink one.

I always handwash ours. But i handwash a lot of stuff. I handwash all sippies, so for the LOs' KKs, it's natural to just wash along with other sippies. Mine only ever has water in it, so I usually just rinse it, maybe a drop or two of dishwashing liquid. Sometimes vinegar. I figure I paid enough for our KKs that I'll handwash them, no problem!
If something says handwash only, I do that. I figure there's a reason for it. There's also a reason your Target ones were only $8 - they aren't as thick or the same grade of stainless steel, I'm sure, so if it says handwash only that's what I'd do.
