I just want it to be over!

I've been working on my MA for a while. My thesis is thisclose to being finished and then I have to apply for graduation. Yes, I drug my feet on the thesis. But right now I just need an hour or two to make some changes and then I can submit it.
But crap keeps happening! No one will take DS off my hands for just a few minutes. My mom flies me out here to help her and won't give me a bit of time! She says "do it at night" but by that time I'm exhausted. I've just spent my day chasing my toddler around her not so childproofed house and watching over my dad who has been very demanding as of late. I just want some time!
And then graduation... oh graduation...
When I still lived here I had trouble getting someone to tell me what was going on. I eventually gave up and figured I'd come back when the department got their ~POOP~ together. Well, now I'm stuck. I missed my meeting with my prof to discuss things because I have been so overwhelmed and now I don't know what to do! I've emailed him. I hope he can help. I feel awful for missing that appointment.
I just want this off my mind! I want to be done so I can truly focus on other things. This degree has been hanging over my head for so long!

Erin, if I were you ( and I know this is easier said than done) I would sit my mom and sisters down and lay it out. Either they help or you leave. You are willing to do what you can to help your dad but you still have your own things just like everyone else.

Tomorrow I'm taking DS down to the living room and I'm leaving him with my mom for an hour. In that time I hope to have finished my corrections and maybe have time to shower.

I think you need more than an hour in general. As Danni said I know it's easier said than done, but I think you need to tell them flat out you are taking at least one day a week. I hope you can get this off your plate soon and your submission goes smoothly. And congrats on finishing a MA.

Yikes. Is there any way you could find a local kid to play with DS or something (under Grandma's eye) so you can get the time you need? The stress must be terrible!

I wish there were someone for DS to play with. I've been trying to set up a playdate with a few kids for ever. Their parents just seem to be so busy with them.

Totally from hell! Fortunately I'm pretty much done. I'm just waiting for DH to get out here with some of the books I need and the copies of the interviews I did. Then I can finish and send it out.

But, to top it all off, I found this form in my bag. My committee chair said that he would take care of it, and type out a new one, but now I'm wondering if he did...

sweetie i say this the most loving way but they are using you because they know you are a good person.

lay it out and tell them like another poster said if they don't help and let you get a little "recharge time" you are gone
